Spinal Fluid Consommé with Steamed Midbrain and Crushed teeth.
This dish is a very classic starter for modern undead cookery. It makes use of simple but pungent ingredients elevated with the use of delicate technique.
Ingredients-
1 human head still attached to the torso.
20ml of spider venom
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp pepper
Preparation:
Using a pair of pliers, extract 12 teeth from the skull and save it in a bowl.
Using a syringe or a needle attached to a tube, thoroughly extract the spinal fluid into an airtight sterile container for usage. (Note: Once you open this container, the timer starts running. Spinal fluid goes off quick!)
Using a bone saw, begin cutting right above the eyebrow. You want to saw around the skull to separate the skullcap, effectively making a lid. Once this lid has been made, extract the brain and place it into an airtight jar. (Note: It keeps for 3 days in the fridge maximum)
To cook:
1. Start a pot of water boiling.
2. Using your grinder or a mortar and pestle, take the prepared teeth and begin grinding it into a coarse dust.
3. Extracting the brain from it’s jar, you want to locate where the spine meets the brain. Using your sharpest knife, extract that portion. (Note: it’s okay to get a little more or a little less. Just remember if you get a little more, you might be getting more senses than you bargained for.). Keep the brain directly after usage.
At this point the water should be scalding hot and sending large plumes of vapor into the air. Using a strainer, hold the prepared brain over the rising steam till each individual piece is warm.
Taking then the spinal fluid, extract about a cup into a bowl. Using that same steam from the pot, heat the fluid till it is just barely warmer than a human body. Once it is hot, add the spider venom (Note: venom is not actually harmful to zombies. In fact, it has the effect of turning zombies into venomous creatures themselves, with the added bonus of tasting mildly like sichuan pepper corns)
Slice the brain thinly and assemble the bowl. Season to taste.
Serve warm with a side of extra spider venom.
